IMAGINE Presentation on Prezi

IMAGINE is a Research & Development project, funded by the European Commission under the “Virtual Factories and Enterprises” theme of the 7th Framework Programme, that I have also bloged about in the past. For the moment, and until I find some time to post other interest activities I want to post for since a long time now, you can see a PREZI presentation of the project.

See it by visiting this link.

CfP Manufacturing the Future: Automating and Connecting Production and Service Systems

IMAGINE is organising the workshop “Manufacturing the Future: Automating and Connecting Production and Service Systems” during the 2013 IEEE ITMC & 19th ICE Conference, that will take place in the Living Lab, Campus The Hague” (Den Haag), The Netherlands.

The workshop will include the presentation of a set of papers that will highlight important issues of the domain and potential solutions as outcomes of recent research activities, followed by a panel discussion with invited international experts. The workshop papers will be published in the conference proceedings, and a report with the analysis of the discussion between the participants of the workshop made available to all the participants.

You are cordially invited to submit a paper to the workshop, looking forward to an effective cross-fertilization and discussion among the running research activities of the domain.

WORKSHOP SCOPE

  • To discuss the current development in the Factories of the Future (FoF) domain, bringing together for knowledge exchange interoperability scientists, manufacturing industries and IT solution providers
  • To reveal ideas and innovations for fully automated end-to-end manufacturing
  • To present the on-going projects/initiatives, actively contributing towards enhancing interoperable production systems
  • To bring together the recently EC funded projects for sharing ideas, knowledge, approaches and promoting collaboration

TOPICS COVERED (but not limited to)

  • Distributed, adaptive and interoperable virtual enterprise environments

CfP: Call For Papers Second International Conference Track on Management of Dynamic Networked Enterprises : MADYNE

Detailed info at: http://conf.laas.fr/MADYNE/

This track will take place in Hammamet (Tunisia) from June 17th to 20th during the 22nd IEEE International Conference Collaboration Technologies and Infrastructures (WETICE 2013).

General description Enterprises are linked as a huge network. The quality of relations between them that could be both cooperative and competitive has a great influence on the success, non-success or the performance of each organization. The traditional business process models have reached their limits; new models and techniques are needed to overcome the complexity and dynamicity of enterprises to be more efficient. Efficiency could be reached through collaborative models for networked enterprises. This is still one of the most challenging topics of current research efforts. The complexity of business requirements is growing up and to avoid such complexity, organizations must open their boundaries in order to use and reuse mutually their business applications.

The track MADYNE deals with networked enterprises collaboration seen from business process management perspective. There is an urgent need of business process logic-oriented solutions to consolidate system integration of networked collaborative enterprises which evolve in dynamic environments. This track aims to promote concepts and solutions for automating dynamic management, interoperability and integration of networked collaborative enterprise applications. The track will be dedicated to discussing problems and exchanging ideas and experiences on the following topics.

Topics Madyne seeks for paper submissions in a wide range of enterprise integration related topics including but not limited to the following:

  • Service and component based system approaches for dynamic management of networked enterprise applications.
  • Methodologies, frameworks, and tools for modelling, validating, and support of enterprise application interoperability and integration.
  • Negotiation protocols for SLA based semantic for enterprise interoperability and integration. – Non-functional features in managing enterprise collaboration.
  • Cross enterprise collaboration based process.
  • New models for enterprises collaboration on the Cloud.
  • Collaborative virtual business ecosystems.
  • New models of collaborative enterprises based on Living Labs experiments.

Submission Authors are invited to submit full papers limited to 8 pages or short papers limited to 4 pages of double column text including tables and references, formatted using the IEEE Proceeding template.

Please use the Madyne 2013 Paper Submission System to submit your papers to Madyne 2013. You can select research topics when you submit your paper in the online submission system so it will be reviewed by the right subject matter experts. Selected papers will be invited to submit to a peer-reviewed.

Special Issue of the International Journal of Enterprise Network Management (IJENM).

Important Dates

Full paper submission deadline: February 1, 2013, February 11, 2013

Notification of acceptance: March 15, 2013

Camera-ready papers deadline:

Author’s registration deadlin : May 01, 2013

WETICE-2013 Conference: June 17-20, 2013

End-to-End Management of Dynamic Manufacturing Networks

Ever wondered how Factories of the Future could operate? See the video below produced by the IMAGINE project to find out how things might look like in the near future.

I-ESA 2012 Conference

Just finished my participation in this year’s I-ESA conference. See below the two presentations I presented. Also, during the conference we had a workshop on Factories of the Future and Interoperability. More information about the workshop will be posted soon!
